Online biking and sports retailer Wiggle has appointed movie rental portal LOVEFiLM’s managing director Jim Buckle as its CFO.
Before being promoted to the position of managing director in March 2012, Buckle was previously CFO of LOVEFiLM, a company he joined in 2006.
Buckle has also held finance roles at BBC, Dell Financial Services and Propertyfinder.com. He is expected to take-up the CFO's post at Wiggle in April.
While LOVEFiLM has not named his replacement so far, a spokesman said, "Jim Buckle has made a huge contribution to building LOVEFiLM into Europe’s leading film and TV series subscription service. We wish him well in his future endeavours."
Wiggle was launched in 1999 as an offshoot of Portsmouth-based Butlers Cycles. LOVEFiLM became a wholly-owned subsidiary of internet retailer Amazon in January 2011. Previously, Amazon had held a 42 percent stake in the movie rental firm.
