Paula Bell appointed group FD at John Menzies

New FD to take over from Paul Dollman

Article comments

Logistics firm John Menzies has appointed Paula Bell as its group finance director, the company said in a statement.

Bell is currently at global consultancy Ricardo plc, where she has been the group finance director for over six years. The move follows a decision by the current John Menzies group finance director Paul Dollman to retire in May.

Earlier this month, the Edinburgh-based firm said Dollman will step down at its annual general meeting on May 17 “subject to a successor being appointed.” It is understood that he will be pursuing a career as an independent portfolio manager.

Apart from her time at Ricardo, Bell’s career to date has included senior finance positions at Rolls Royce, AWG plc and BAA Gatwick. She is also a non-executive director of Laird plc where she chairs the Audit Committee.

The John Menzies statement said Bell will join after agreeing “a mutually acceptable departure date” with her current employer.

Commenting on the appointment, Iain Napier, chairman of John Menzies, said, “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Paula Bell. I look forward to welcoming her to the board. She brings an excellent mix of international finance experience and enthusiasm for the role that will be a real asset to the Group.”
