Pilar Lopez, the current CFO of Telefonica Europe, has joined the board of construction materials supplier Wolseley as a non-executive director.

According to a Wolseley statement, Lopez has also become a member of the company’s Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees as of January.

Lopez has been at Telefonica since 1999. She held a number of key finance functions and strategy centric roles across the telecommunications giant's European and Latin American operations before taking-up the role of CFO Europe.

Prior to joining Telefonica, Lopez held various positions at JPMorgan's Madrid, London and New York offices.

Gareth Davis, chairman of Wolseley, said, "We are delighted to welcome Pilar Lopez to the Wolseley team. She brings a great deal of corporate and financial experience, having worked in a range of senior roles handling complex issues in global businesses. We look forward to working with her."
