The UK Green Investment Bank (GIB) has appointed former CFO of JPMorgan Chase's global investment banking and M&A group - Peter Knott - as its chief risk officer.
In a statement over the weekend, the recently instituted GIB said Knott will be based at the bank's Edinburgh headquarters. The bank was recently launched by Business Secretary Vince Cable following a government consultation.
It will receive £3 billion in government funding to encourage private sector investment in the green economy. Earlier, the GIB appointed Rob Cormie, a former Quayle Munro executive, as its group operations director.
Apart from his engagement with JP Morgan, industry veteran Knott has held several senior roles at Standard Chartered, including the post of head of operational risk.
In response to his appointment, Knott said, "I am very excited by this opportunity to join the bank at this early stage in its development as a leading institution in the financing of the UK's renewable energy sector."
