Cape Plc, an international non-mechanical support services provider for the energy and mineral resources sectors, has appointed Michael Speakman as its CFO.

In a statement on Thursday, Cape said the appointment was effective immediately. Speakman has over three decades of experience in the finance function.

Previously, he was the CFO of oilfield services firm Expro International Group where he successfully lead the company’s finance department through its delisting and privatisation in 2008. Prior to joining Expro, he had worked at TI Group and Smiths Group.

Joe Oatley, chief executive of Cape, said, "I am delighted that Michael Speakman is joining Cape at what is an important time for the business. He brings a wealth of skills and experience to Cape and I am looking forward to working with him to develop and grow the business."

Speakman said, "I am excited to be joining Cape at this time and I look forward to building on the core strengths of the Group to deliver long-term value to shareholders."
